HP, you were one of the first printers I remember having in our home as a young child. It was an old gray series and all it did basically was print. It was pretty awesome though. It turned on even when the power was off as long as the computer told it to print. It was excellent.

Over the years, we’ve continued getting HP printers. The only reason we ever upgraded was because of better features or someone just happened to break the printer. They have always suited our needs and very rarely let us down.

Our last printer was destroyed by my autistic brother. We went to Best Buy and purchased a pretty decent HP. Alas, after a few months, it broke down. Luckily we had the replacement plan so we took it back and got another. What we got was, by far, the worst printer we’ve ever had. It got printer jams with ONE sheet of paper sitting in the tray. I told my dad this had to go. So finally, we got the HP Officejet 6600.

It’s a pretty great printer. I like the interface, I like that it doesn’t break on a dime, and we haven’t had many issues aside from some network. Out of the three printers, third one was a charm.

We’ve been needing to print things for a current case I’ve had. My mother was attempting to print something and the printer informed us ‘it was unable to print as the magenta and yellow cartridges were depleted’. I’m not sure how this occurred as my niece has printed perhaps one color picture and generally we set our print jobs to ‘black ink only’. But okay, yes, we only print files generally anyway.

To my absolute and utter horror, I found out through support that, in order for us to print black, we need to replace the yellow and magenta cartridges. Do you realize the absolute lunacy of this? I don’t care what happens to the printheads, how dare you hold our printer hostage? Past printers would have simply just not print in color. So instead, you choose to have it so consumers have to go out and purchase more ink cartridges in order to do a BASIC function.

It’s not as if we wouldn’t buy more cartridges if the need arises but for us to be unable to print at all? There was some HP ass kisser on the support pages said, well, this is because they use the same print heads and, well, the cartridges dry out anyway. Yea, I guess they are since I can’t print in black without color. Oh, and mind you, they don’t blend colors.

This is the pinnacle of taking advantage of consumers. I do not care what justification anyone can create, this is based purely around making money in the worst way possible. As many in the forums said, angry, this is the last time they would purchase from HP and unfortunately I’ve come to the same conclusion.

Another JCP Moment

I have been busy for the past few weeks with work and some legal issues as well as some events with one of my best friends traveling back abroad again. Maybe four weeks ago we ordered shirts for my dad since the man goes through them like crazy with ink stains (I don’t know how it’s possible). They were back ordered since they were on sale and they didn’t call us until maybe a week and a half ago.

Today, I got a letter saying “Since you took ten days and never responded to our call, we assume you don’t want them anymore and refunded your account”. Um, my mom DID talk to them. She hasn’t been able to get out to pick up the order either and as I said, I’ve been busy and frankly pretty tired. My dad works all the time so we haven’t had the convenience of getting them.

I understand. I do hate when we have a table full of ordered stuff there forever that people take their time picking up. HOWEVER, the rule is we don’t ever send anything back that a customer has already paid for. We did not just say ‘oh yea, we don’t want them’. We made contact, told them we’ll be over as soon as possible, and I guess our one shirt was taking up valuable space?

As I said, I understand the sentiment so I’m not really mad on that point but you’d actually refund money rather than allow us to get them? It was sort of an inconvenience when we were waiting two weeks for you to get them back in stock but we didn’t ask for a refund or anything. My dad’s been wearing shirts with vests to hide the stains until we could find a moment to make it over but I guess we won’t now?

I have not seen one post on Tumblr glorifying LMFAO yet, they’re usually getting the same ‘you suck’ treatment that Ke$ha receives. So why does it have to be “misogyny” if some people like LMFAO and don’t like Ke$ha? CB: FINE, but then, you won't go paragliding--
Me: I'm not flying around some rocks!
CB: Yea, you want to do the stupid version with WATER.
Me: it's still technically dangerous for me, I can't swim.
CB: Uh huh, but what about me? I guess sharks.
Me: Yeaaaa, the shark will jump out of the water and catch you.
CB: And when he eats me I'll kill him with the scorpion poison in my blood!
